Max Milligan has been a gigging guitarist since 1973, in that time he has played many styles of music working in Cabaret Clubs, West End Musicals in London, Jazz Funk/Soul bands and Rock and Roll tours.
He is an experienced session guitarist and clinician. Max was a senior guitar tutor at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance - then known as 'The Guitar Institute' - in 1991 - 2016. He is also a popular clinician and has worked with Jerry Donahue (The Hellecasters), Big Jim Sullivan,John Goldie and Gordon Giltrap at the London College of Music.
Max is always busy composing incidental music for television companies and songwriting. He has recently toured with acoustic Roots and Blues artist Cherry Lee Mewis and Nashville recording artists Danni Nicholls, My Girl The River, John Verity, Don Gallardo, Lily James, Megan O’Neill and singer/songwriter Graham Robins.
Max has songs recently featured in the following films. "Mad to be Normal" (David Tennant, Michael Gambon, Elisabeth Moss) "Waiting for Anya" (Anjelica Huston, Jean Reno, Noah Schnapp) "Killers Anonymous" (Gary Oldman, Jessica Alba). "Mister Mayfair" starring Armano Assante.
Max continues to play live and compose TV and film music. Max's latest release in October 2025 is an EP on the Cedar Wilds Music Artist Series, a selection of classic soul songs played on acoustic guitar.
